For 2010, Fender has crafted a truly innovative instrument that will provide electric Telecaster tones, 4 different acoustic guitar tones, and a blending of both of these tones. Yes, electric and acoustic sounds in one instrument. Now within a Telecaster platform you can access rich and pristine acoustic guitar tones. Strum and fingerpick acoustic songs on a modern C shaped rosewood neck with 21 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5 radius. This is not an electric guitar that approximates the sound of an acoustic guitar. It is the sound of 4 acoustic guitars at your fingertips. There is an acoustic transducer underneath the saddles of the bridge that drives Fishmans Aura System. This in turn provides 4 different digital images of acoustic sounds that are utterly real and organic. The Fender Acoustasonic also has a Twisted Tele neck pickup for classic Tele electric sounds. Best of all, you can blend these two tones in the middle position of the pickup selector. But thats not where the innovation stops. The Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster allows you to split the acoustic and electric signal into either stereo or mono. With a supplied Y cable, you can run your acoustic signal into an amp or direct, and run your electric signal into an amp. This provides a rich and lush sound that is a perfect balance between the acoustic and electric worlds. This instrument is perfect for pop songsters and singer-songwriters who need some versatility to their sound or even for electric guitarists needing some added diversity to their tonal arsenal. This is a truly innovative and exceptional instrument that provides organic and dynamic acoustic electric tones in a traditional Telecaster. Astounding.

Recording in stereo can really bring out the depth of an instrument within a room. In this tutorial Dan shows you two different ways that you can record a grand piano in stereo. For this particular video the mics are the Shure SM81's which find their way into a lot of great recordings. There will be two samples for each method. A chromatic run up all the keys as well as a chord progression that will later be used in a song will demonstrate the differences between the XY and ORTF stereo techniques.
