The Moogerfooger MF104z from Moog is the analog delay pedal to end all analog delay pedals. This is the only analog delay pedal that gives a little over 1 full second of sweet analog delay. It also features triple expression pedal inputs to control Feedback, Mix, and Delay time. We were psyched to try out the Line 6 JM4 Looper after seeing how similar it looked to the highly touted DL4 and FM4 boxes, some of Line 6's finest pieces of work. The JM4 is good at something, but it just doesn't seem like looping is its forte. It does do looping, but it seems like Line 6 was more focused on providing the Spider Jam presets, functionality and controls than they were with making an actual looper. Over the years we have been frequently asked about this topic so we decided to make a tutorial video. Side Chain Compression is an important production technique in many forms of electronic music but it is probably most used in house music and most notably by Daft Punk and other french disco house producers. Side Chain Compression essentially takes one sound and uses it to effect another. In house music it is usually the kick drum that effects another sound in the mix by lowering its volume each time the kick drum is used. This creates the 'pumping' sound that is a signature part of the french disco sound. Perhaps more commonly, radio DJs also use Side Chain Compression to lower the volume of the music while they are talking.

C-Thru Music has lent me this keyboard, called the AXiS, for a few months, and I am rearranging the keys for the Bohlen-Pierce Scale, a macrotuning based on a 3/1 frequency ratio, divided by 13 equal steps. This particular AXiS toured with the Lionel Richie Band on loan, went to me, and in two weeks I will be flying to Boston to give this AXiS to the Berklee College of Music, Synthesis Department - namely to Dr. Boulanger who will use it for his classes and for the new microtonal club.
