For 2010, Fender has crafted a truly innovative instrument that will provide electric Telecaster tones, 4 different acoustic guitar tones, and a blending of both of these tones. Yes, electric and acoustic sounds in one instrument. Now within a Telecaster platform you can access rich and pristine acoustic guitar tones. Strum and fingerpick acoustic songs on a modern C shaped rosewood neck with 21 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5 radius. This is not an electric guitar that approximates the sound of an acoustic guitar. It is the sound of 4 acoustic guitars at your fingertips. There is an acoustic transducer underneath the saddles of the bridge that drives Fishmans Aura System. This in turn provides 4 different digital images of acoustic sounds that are utterly real and organic. The Fender Acoustasonic also has a Twisted Tele neck pickup for classic Tele electric sounds. The Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster allows you to split the acoustic and electric signal into either stereo or mono. With a supplied Y cable, you can run your acoustic signal into an amp or direct, and run your electric signal into an amp. This provides a rich and lush sound that is a perfect balance between the acoustic and electric worlds. This instrument is perfect for pop songsters and singer-songwriters who need some versatility to their sound or even for electric guitarists needing some added diversity to their tonal arsenal. Yet another new line for Vox, the Vox AGA70, was introduced at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim. This one's an acoustic amp -- the first for the company (unless you count the Vox AmPlug Acoustic, which we don't). This powerful little 70watt combo sports two separate channels, one with a solid-state pre, and one with a 12AU7-driven preamp, perfect for adding a little warmth to a microphone or secondary input. Vox went through the trouble of setting up a sound-proof audition room for all their new amps at the show, so we went through the trouble of demoing all the amps, including the Vox AGA70. Enjoy!
