Yet another new line for Vox, the Vox AGA70, was introduced at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim. This one's an acoustic amp -- the first for the company (unless you count the Vox AmPlug Acoustic, which we don't). This powerful little 70watt combo sports two separate channels, one with a solid-state pre, and one with a 12AU7-driven preamp, perfect for adding a little warmth to a microphone or secondary input. Vox went through the trouble of setting up a sound-proof audition room for all their new amps at the show, so we went through the trouble of demoing all the amps, including the Vox AGA70. Enjoy!

This is the new 2010 Vox AC15HW1, the hand-wired AC15 combo from the New 2010 Vox Handwired series. These 60's style fawn tolex beauties feature the unmistakable chime and natural compression that you've come to expect from the best vintage Vox AC15 amplifiers, thanks to all-tube design, including an EZ81 tube rectifier, and top-shelf components hand-wired on turretboard just like the old days. The control panel on the Vox AC15HW1 offers considerable flexibility, with Normal and Top Boost Channels, a half-power switch, and a footswitchable hot mode for extra gain. You can also keep it old-school by completely bypassing the Master Volume. 15 Watts of EL84 tube power is pumped through your choice of either a Celestion Greenback (Vox AC15HW1) or a Celestion Alnico Blue speaker (Vox AC15HW1x), housed in a Birch-ply cabinet with solid bracing and natural high-end diffusion for ultra smooth treble response. For true Vox tone, it doesn't get better than the new 2010 Vox AC15 Hand-wired combo.

So I think Joe Satriani has gone a bit insane -- his new album, Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock cannot be the work of a man in his right mind. Nevertheless, the new VOX Satchurator pedal is all over the new album. Mike Bradley of VOX spent a year and a half working with Joe Satriani and learning to speak his imaginary language so that they could effectively communicate ideas to develop an overdrive pedal that would provide all that Professor Satchifunkalupagus (or whatever he's calling himself nowadays) with all he'd ever want out of an OD pedal. As it turns out, once you've fully invested yourself in Satriani's backwards-land, he has some pretty rocking ideas.
