While beginning to work on their new record with producer Tony Berg, six-piece Los Angeles based group, Ozomatli, took time to record with Apogees brand new USB music interface, ONE. Within 2 hours time, Ozomatli wrote, arranged, and recorded an entire song using only a Mac, GarageBand, a single external mic and ONE. The guitar, conga, tambourine, and even the keyboard (micing the keyboards built in speaker) were all recorded using ONEs internal condenser microphone. The bass and Requinto guitar were recorded direct, using ONEs 1/4 Hi-Z instrument input. Taking advantage of ONEs 65 dB microphone preamp, the vocals were recorded via a standard dynamic mic into the XLR input. Shortly after this session the group hit the road, now each equipped with a ONE and a Mac laptop in order to continue pre-production for the new record.

The Triton console in this video has been modified, both by the unnamed company that sold it to Brian and by Brian himself as some API and Neve pieces really beef up the classic Trident sound.

Professor Herb Deutsch, synth pioneer and collaborator of Bob Moog, visited the Moog Machine Shop during Moogfest 2012. While here, Professor Deutsch explored Moog's next generation analog synthesizer, while still in it's research & design phase. In the past, Bob Moog always tested his ideas, instruments and sounds with musicians and colleagues. This spirit of collaboration continues at the Moog factory to this day and is essential to our work. It is a key part of the product development process, as it furthers our ideas and helps us shape better tools for musicians. Making its official debut at NAMM 2013, the first 24 of these new instruments are being handcrafted at the Moog Factory this week. The Billboard-dubbed soulful and calming Oak & Gorski (formerly known as The Ken Oak Band) have sold more than 25,000 albums independently through their own label, Cello Rock Records, self-booked five national tours, and have been featured on CSI: New York and Dreamworks Shes the Man. Cellist Ken Oak and acoustic guitarist Ed Gorski have graced the well-treaded sidewalks of Santa Monicas Third St. Promenade and have been a long-standing resident guest of Hotel Café in Hollywood, gaining fans with their unique folk-rock sound. Their above-featured song, Pretty Far Gone, was recorded entirely with Apogees ONE- including cello, guitar and vocals- captured solely by its internal condenser microphone, premium converters and mic preamp. With soothing cello, solid and rhythmic acoustic guitar and harmonizing vocals, a song about drinking Jagermeister has never been so intoxicating.
