AudioCubes is a revolutionary new electronic sound generator, processor and controller, available from PERCUSSA. You can use it to control MIDI compatible software and instruments, generate lofi sound with them or process lofi sound. Each cube can be reprogrammed from your computer over USB and has built in full colour light sources. They also come with samples by Loopmasters and Max/MSP patches. In the video Bert Schiettecatte is using the cubes with Ableton Live.

Chris from UCSD emails us with a patch in Max/MSP and accompanying video in which he uses a single audiocube to create loops. The audiocube's 4 sensors control 4 parameters of a VST instrument, which are recorded into a looping sequencer and played over the original recording, allowing the performer to create a loop quickly and shape the sound and musical patterns using has hands and fingers, like a piece of clay. The parameters are recorded in high resolution and speed for smooth continuous control.

No setup or configuration necessary to make the cubes talk to the software, since the software was designed specifically for the cubes. The profile of Percussa's Audio Cubes continues to grow: they were on show in Frankfurt in conjunction with the new MIDI Bridge software, which enables better integration with your computer. Apologies for the drum 'n' bass craziness going off in the background -- unfortunately, noise pollution is one of the things you have to put up with at large trade shows.
