For 2010, Fender has crafted a truly innovative instrument that will provide electric Telecaster tones, 4 different acoustic guitar tones, and a blending of both of these tones. Yes, electric and acoustic sounds in one instrument. Now within a Telecaster platform you can access rich and pristine acoustic guitar tones. Strum and fingerpick acoustic songs on a modern C shaped rosewood neck with 21 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5 radius. This is not an electric guitar that approximates the sound of an acoustic guitar. It is the sound of 4 acoustic guitars at your fingertips. There is an acoustic transducer underneath the saddles of the bridge that drives Fishmans Aura System. This in turn provides 4 different digital images of acoustic sounds that are utterly real and organic. The Fender Acoustasonic also has a Twisted Tele neck pickup for classic Tele electric sounds. Best of all, you can blend these two tones in the middle position of the pickup selector. But thats not where the innovation stops. The Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster allows you to split the acoustic and electric signal into either stereo or mono. With a supplied Y cable, you can run your acoustic signal into an amp or direct, and run your electric signal into an amp. This provides a rich and lush sound that is a perfect balance between the acoustic and electric worlds. This instrument is perfect for pop songsters and singer-songwriters who need some versatility to their sound or even for electric guitarists needing some added diversity to their tonal arsenal. We recorded clips of 10 different high end delay pedals in Taylor Barefoot's Studio in Brighton Massachusetts to show off the different flavors of delays available. We recorded each pedal using an original 1959 Fender Stratocaster, Monster Cables, a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II, and Alessandro Black 'n Tan amp, Royer 121 microphone, Shure SM-57 microphone, Shadow Hill Industries Gama 8 preamp and a Lynx Aurora 16 A/D convertor into Protools. Minimal digital limiting was added in Protools to boost the volumes. Pedals used: Moog MF-104, Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay, Dr Scientist Sunny Day Delay, Way Huge Aquapuss, MXR Carbon Copy, Toneczar Echoczar, ElectroHarmonix Deluxe Memory Man Reissue, Diamond Memory Lane, Hughes and Kettner Replex, Roland SRE-555. Each pass was recorded first with the bridge pickup, then the neck pickup. Taylor tried to play the same thing each time, but we didn't use any reamper or similar to get the exact same thing each time. We simply set each delay to a setting (with tasteful modulation) that we felt sounded 'good' for that pedal, as if we were trying to use it for a song that had this riff in the studio- a real world application. There are plenty of videos that go into the details of each pedal, look them up!

The Crumar Spirit was designed in 1982 by Bob Moog, Jim Scott & Tom Rhea. It was not a commercial success so only fifty to one hundred of these beauties exist! It has a 37-note keyboard with 2 VCO's. There are saw, triangle, and several square waveforms on both oscillators. You can sync both oscillators. The oscillators have an octave range from 32' to 4'. Ring Modulation, low and high pass filters, 12 DB & 24DB slope, single & multiple triggering, keyboard filter tracking, band pass filtering, loudness envelope, filter envelope, arpeggiator linked to LFO (mod-X) with 4 different arpeggiations, LFO 1 modulated 6 different ways, a second waveshapable LFO called (shaper-y) with 4 fixed waveforms and shape control adjustable from saw to reverse-sawtooth, performance panel to include Auto & preset glide, and 3 performance wheels, pitch, Mod-x, and Shaper -Y. with the latter 2 having 5 different destinations. An audio mixer with ability to mix OSC A & B with Ring Modulator, and Noise. LFO 1 also has a red noise generator as well as a brightness control for overall boost of the high frequencies. A filter envelope with inverted and normal ADSR & a loudness envelope which can be bypassed. Output Jacks: External Gate in, External Pitch in, Keyboard Pitch out, Keyboard Gate out, OSC B Pedal, Filter Pedal, Shaper Audio Out, ADSR Mix Out, External Audio In.
