We're back at Atlanta Vintage Guitars checking out some old mandolins with quite some bite with Frankie Moates. The first is an Army/Navy mandolin from 1915. These were only made during World War I for men in service. The Gibson Style A is young in comparison, built in 1918. Give them each a listen by watching this video.

For 2010, Fender has crafted a truly innovative instrument that will provide electric Telecaster tones, 4 different acoustic guitar tones, and a blending of both of these tones. Yes, electric and acoustic sounds in one instrument. Now within a Telecaster platform you can access rich and pristine acoustic guitar tones. Strum and fingerpick acoustic songs on a modern C shaped rosewood neck with 21 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5 radius. This is not an electric guitar that approximates the sound of an acoustic guitar. The Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster allows you to split the acoustic and electric signal into either stereo or mono. With a supplied Y cable, you can run your acoustic signal into an amp or direct, and run your electric signal into an amp. This provides a rich and lush sound that is a perfect balance between the acoustic and electric worlds. This instrument is perfect for pop songsters and singer-songwriters who need some versatility to their sound or even for electric guitarists needing some added diversity to their tonal arsenal. This is a truly innovative and exceptional instrument that provides organic and dynamic acoustic electric tones in a traditional Telecaster. Astounding.
